Nearly 6.9 million cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical procedures were performed in the United States in 2002, according to statistics released today by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Compared to 2001, surgical procedures increased 1% to 1.6 million, while nonsurgical procedures declined 23% to 5.3 million.
