When will I see results?

Is there any downtime?

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments varies by severity of the acne. Most patients need 4-10 treatments at weekly intervals. Bi-monthly maintenance is recommended after a series.

Can the Isolaz be combined with other facial treatments?

Absolutely, it is encouraged to prepare the skin with an in-office glycolic peel the same day of treatment or a beta peel a few days prior. Detoxifying facials can also be done between treatments to extract stubborn blackheads and congestion in the pores.

The Isolaz can also be used in conjunction with Levulan. Typically, this is incorporated after a few treatments for severe and non-respondent acne.

Are there any contraindications?

You should not have Acne Light therapy if you have used Accutane in the last 4-6 months, are on blood thinners, used Retin-A in the last 48 hours or recently waxed the area to be treated. If you are on antibiotics for acne, you can still receive Isolaz Acne Light therapy.

Are there any side effects?

A temporary side effect that rarely happens is bruising on the temples, forehead or nose due to the vacuum on the machine. Please notify your technician if you bruise easily so that the vacuum can be lowered to prevent this from happening.

What does the treatment feel like?

The Acne Light Therapy is painless. You will feel a gentle and warm sensation as your skin is drawn into the treatment tip. A pulse of light energy will be applied to the treatment area, immediately after you will feel your skin being gently released back into the normal position.
